Tools

These tools support my broader purpose for The Supply Chain Engineer: sharing practical methods that make complex supply chain decisions easier to understand, evaluate, and act on. They are available for anyone to explore, test with their own data, and use to answer operational questions.

Built with Python and Streamlit, each application combines analytics, optimization, simulation, and visualization to help users assess current operations, compare alternatives, and plan for future needs.

Warehouse Profiler.png

Understand how your warehouse operates

The Warehouse Profiler transforms operational data into interactive dashboards covering inbound, outbound, inventory, returns, customers, suppliers, and overall performance.

Explore:

  • Time-series trends and seasonality

  • Order, inventory, trailer, and customer profiles

  • SKU activity and storage duration

  • Space and resource utilization

  • Throughput, quality, accuracy, and process performance

  • Relationships between operational variables

Best for: operational diagnostics, data exploration, warehouse profiling, and early-stage solution design.

Slotting Studio.png

Design smarter storage and slotting strategies

Slotting Studio is a modular workspace for evaluating rack configurations, tote requirements, warehouse layouts, and inventory-placement strategies.

Current modules include:

  • Rack Optimizer: Determine rack-height configurations using item dimensions and clustering.

  • Tote Calculator: Simulate item orientation and assign SKUs to suitable tote sizes.

  • Heatmap: Visualize warehouse and slot-level attributes from multiple perspectives.

  • Warehouse Simulation: Evaluate picker routing, replenishment, and warehouse travel.

Future modules will support zone sizing, item-to-slot optimization, and move generation.

Best for: storage design, slotting analysis, warehouse layout evaluation, and travel reduction.

Capacity Planner.png

Translate demand into labor, storage, and investment requirements

The Capacity Planner supports demand forecasting, workforce planning, storage sizing, and automation financial analysis within one integrated workspace.

Current modules include:

  • Demand Forecaster: Compare time-series forecasting methods and evaluate forecast error.

  • Labor Planner: Build staffing plans across shifts, roles, overtime, hiring, and attrition.

  • Storage Requirements Estimator: Estimate pallet, case, and unit-level storage needs.

  • Automation ROI Calculator: Compare manual and automated operations using savings, ROI, payback, and cash flow.

Best for: annual planning, workforce strategy, storage-capacity analysis, and automation business cases.
